This is not likely to happen (at least I hope not), but what if the Mets went hard after Payrod? Would you like it or not?

I personally would demand the Wilpons to sell the club and Omah to step down if they would even consider bringing in Payrod at 30M+ per year.

No. I personally wouldn't like this. Where would David Wright play? And PLEASE do not say 1B. That's silly.

Adding Alex Rodriguez to the Mets wouldn't make any sense:

1. We already have Reyes at SS (A-Rod's natural position) and Wright at 3B (A-Rod's adopted position). Someone would have to move and we've already seen the problems that can cause with the Reyes 2B expiriment.

2. Alex Rodriguez does not guarantee championships. He also doesn't play very well in the post-season. He wouldn't be the difference between the collapse and the ring.

3. As great as he is, he is absolutely not worth $30 million dollars. He's not worth $15 million dollars a year. Maybe he can demand that money in the market, but he will not generate enough of a difference for anyone to justify paying out that much money to one person. By comparision, the Diamondbacks are paying thier current roster about $30 million this year and they are still in the postseason.

4. It's already been done. Bringing him to the Mets would be seen as a Yankee-hand-me-down rather than blockbuster deal.

He's obviously a great talent, but unless he can be a number 1 or 2 in the pitching rotation, he's not worth the added pressure and payroll.

I mean, I wouldn't be against it since he's easily the best player in baseball. I obviously like Reyes at SS, but if he shifted over to 2B for a season, it wouldn't be a huge deal. Once Delgado is gone, Arod can shift over to 1B, and Reyes can move back to SS. Once again, I'm not saying I like moving Reyes, but we are talking about Alex Rodriguez, not Kaz Matsui...

Considering the month they've had, maybe we'd be better off talking about Kaz Matsui and what to do with the other $26m!

Saw it on some news sports report. Might've been Sal Marciano. I know just because some news guy says it, it doesn't make anything true, but there's sure gonna be some rumors of Payrod to Mets.

As long as they remain rumors, no harm no foul.

The stats inclined portion of fans would like Payrod to Mets though. I gather.

Fantasywise, it's a no brainer to add Payrod, but for the real life Mets, hell no.
