How do you train your reactions (hope I worded that right)?

It starts with developing proper movement patterns, which will begin to happen as you get more and more training session under your belt. Once that is established at an adequate level, we can begin to get into some more advanced movements, which are very difficult to explain through words alone. But pay special attention to how eccentric/concentric movements are taught and you'll be well on your way.

Yes, explosive, yet controlled is the key. Not "slow and controlled" like bodybuilding movements. This happens over time, not in one training session. Do not rush this. Just attempt to get a touch quicker each workout. When some one finally "gets it" they look out of control to the naked eye, yet they are able to move extremely fast and maintain perfect control at all degrees of ROM.
