I'm sure this has been posted numerous times, but i have yet to see one.
About how long does it take a major-leager to run from home to first base?

I guess it depends on how far away his home is.

The MLB scouting scale goes from 3.9 to 4.8, I believe. Of course, players have gone above and below that before, and it depends on if they're a LHB or RHB.

when he first came up to the bigs... Rocco Baldelli had the same time from home to first as Ichiro did and he's a righty. pretty impressive if you ask me, considering Ichiro gets about 2 steps when he hits the ball.
