He reportedly received shipments of steroids that had no medicinal value whatsoever in 2004 and 2005. Before anyone jumps on me or accuses me of witch-hunting, this is the current events forum, and I'm simply posting this because it hasn't been posted.

Doesn't that make the 2nd Mets pitcher busted for PEDs?

He wasn't a Met when he took them. If he was, he should get a refund because they didn't work.

"Busted For Steroid Usage" is erroneous information, according to the linked story.
the story contains no language of use, only supposed possession.

Wow. I recall an interview that he did on SNY earlier this year and he spoke about having testicular cancer (which he beat).
If the 'roids had no value, then what is the concern?

No MEDICINAL value. As in, they weren't prescribed for any illness or what have you.

A newspaper reporting something and "busted" are two different events. This isn't like the Palmeiro case where we have a positive test.

What's up with all the nit picking. A "source" who or whatever that may be tells someone Schowenweis received shipments of steroids. Everyone can draw their own conclusions or wait for this to play out in about a year or two.
End of story.

Maybe he received the shipments for someone in his family who is a body builder.

A source told me he was buying the steroids to destroy them becuase he thought they were an evil that must be destroyed.

I love it. That is great. Possession does not mean use. I possess certain body parts that I never use. Why, so do politicians.

Typical sports fans - they've been defrauded by athletes for years and now it's all a joke and more step to the accepting side than in calling out the players for what they are.
Americans think the worse of management no matter what but obviously will bend themselves backwards to explain a "poor" employee's misstep.

sports fan or not has nothing whatsoever to do with the difference between (suspicion) of possession and use.
i do not see the schowenweis story as a joke or laughing matter.
