agree on the top choices, except the NL MVP, I think is Holliday over Rollins.

If Rollins wins this award you just may as well rename it the John Kruk/ESPN hype award. David Wright and Matt Halliday had better years.

Do you think any baseball writers whoi take themselves seriously really care what John Kruk has to say?

Ehh...Rollins had 122 RC and whereas Wright had 136 and Holliday had 129, and I think Rollins is 14 runs better than Wright with the glove.

But isn't each run a bit less valuable in that bandbox in Phillie than pitcher-friendly Shea Stadium?

Runs created does not hold players accountable for all the outs they used. You need to subtract out how many runs a replacement level player would have created with the same number of outs. Rollins falls way down the list.

As for fielding, SS is worth about 5 more runs than 3B and a dozen more runs than LF. But Wright and Rollins are both slightly above-average fielders (+5?) while Holliday's been about +15 runs, making the defensive contributions all about equal
