A one hitter! Hopefully it's not too late. This team needed a pitcher to step up. Hopefully Glavine can follow suit tomorrow.

Congrats to Maine on a great day. I was following the game on Gameday because of its playoff implications, and then looked up and realized a no-hitter I didn't even know was occurring had just ended.

Now if only Adam Eaton can tank the way Ollie Perez did last night.

Now if only Adam Eaton can tank the way Ollie Perez did last night.

He only lasted 2 1/3. Its up to the Phillies bullpen to hold the Nationals at 2-0

GREAT game by Mr Maine!!
Career high in K's, and he stated in ST that his goal was to get 15 wins by the end of the season. Well guess what gang? He achieved his goal!!

FYI: Nats still lead 2-0 over the Phils in the 7th inning.

P.S.
I think it had to do with me sponsoring his page over at baseball-almanac.com ;)

What a game by John Maine! Darn you Paul Hoover...

Hoover's hit reminded me of the scratch single by Keith Moreland that prevented Doc Gooden from no-hitting the Cubs.

If the Mets can win again today, we'll see what happens. If they win, the worse that could happen is a one game playoff. But, now they have a chance again!!!
