I know there are still three games left in the season, but I want to see how everybody feels/felt about this season. Personally, I'm glad that we stuck around for a while and it's good to see the Mets tank. :D But, on the other hand our pitching stunk at times and the offense couldn't muster any runs when the pitching was on point. It'll take some good moves in the offseason for them to get back to a division winning level.

Hudson came back around to what he was with the A's or close to it. Moylan became one of the best bullpen arms that will likely be in the bullpen for a while. Francoeur becoming a more balanced hitter and Yunel showing he is ready for the big time.
I think the Braves will go out and get a good starting pitcher nothing like a Tim Hudson deal but a good one and I don't think they will have to hurt their depth at any one position in the minors or majors to get them.

Every team who underperforms has games that they "should" have won, and they "should" have never lost to in a sane world. But, as it is, the Braves tried to deal with all the problems and came close to succeeding. After the colossal failure that was last season, 2007 was progress.
The Braves will have a different team in 2008. What will remain to be seen is if they'll win.

After the colossal failure that was last season, 2007 was progress. That's the bottom line, for me.
Still, I can't help but fixate a little on those two Marlins games and Hudson's other amazing, wasted start, when he outdueled Santana at the Humperdome, only to have it thrown away by Wickolb.

Again, the games they "should" have won. Everyone has those games.

this may sound weird, but i think i would actually rather see the mets win the division than the phils! cause at least i can rationalize that the mets have a better team, but the phils! we are so better than them!

Again, the games they "should" have won. Everyone has those games. Yeah, I know. And if we looked over them game by game, they're likely balanced out by ones we should have lost (like that whackadoodle game against the Phils a few weeks ago...without which they might already have clinched a tie for the title, now that I think of it :faint: ) that we pulled out.
Like Sutton always quoted Walt Alston as saying: even the best teams lose at least 54 games and even the worst win that many. It's what you do with the middle 54 that determines your season. You have to take the long view of things.

Overall, I'd give about a C+ or B- for the season. There's definitely room for improvement. KJ has been great this year. I had my doubts at the beginning of the season. Great strides made by Yunel Escobar and finally a healthy Chipper (somewhat). Smoltz, Hudson, Moylan had great years. Chuck took a step back in my opinion.

i kinda think chuck actually went backwards. I mean teams are starting to figure him out. He's only got two pitches. He really needs a third one.

The Mets blowing that lead makes this season satisfactory to me.

Well, the Phils won the division. I have to applaud them because they took advantage of the Mets faltering.

So you agree with me? I said that Chuck stepped backwards also.

James, at the very least, didn't progress like I expected him to this year. At best, he stayed in place.
But, for now, the Mets Hindenberg impression salves all wounds

haha, yea sorry. i must have read it wrong. Really wanna see that third pitch. definite upside, but it's hard being a fly ball pitcher too.
