As of today the Yankees are 2 1/2 games out of Boston in the division and 4 1/2 up on Detroit. What I what to know is:
1. Which do you think that the Yankees have more of a chance of winning?
2. Which do you want the Yankees to win?

I want them to win the division, but I think they'll win the Wild Card.

Don't understand this vote. Detroit is 5 1/2 out WC so the Yankees are basically in unless we have a total collapse. (Angels, Indians, BoSox, Yankees) You always want the East for home advantage if you play BoSox.

WC has done very well in post season so it's more important to be playing (pitching) solid BB.

Also, I think its important to have the best record to pick the short schedule. Agree with Tony Starks and with alternate days and have Wang pitch twice (1 and 4 game). Wang Andy Clemens Wang Andy.

I voted division, still fhard to pull off but a lot more likely than it was a week ago.

I want them to win whatever does not have them going to Anaheim in the first round. Not only are the Angels great at home, but the Yankees struggle against them anyway.

The BoSox are in virtual freefall. Manny's out until who knows when. Dice-K and Okajima have basically sucked since August 1st.

Does Manny have an oblique (sp.?) injury? I have heard so many different injuries this year, they all run together...

I'll take the division. If you win the WC, then Boston makes the playoffs and has won that oft-elusive AL East title.

If the Yanks win the division and Detroit wins the WC, that's one less thing for us to worry about. Anaheim will be our next worry.

If Anaheim then Boston, it would seem like the A's and the M's from 2001. We were said to never get past either, especially both, but we did. It was the Snakes that proved our undoing.

I say that Anaheim owes us a rematch. In 1977-78, the Yanks beat LAD, and in 1981, they got us back. I say that this would be our "1981" to beat them.
