As of yesterday (12/18) 40 years ago, Yaz became the last player to win the triple crown. As a Yankees fan, even I can applause this feat. It's impressive considering the likes of Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, and Willie Mays never accomplished this feat.
The question is, do you think anybody will be able to do it again?

Is that accurate? Considering he tied for the HR crown, could it really be considered won with a couple weeks left in the season? History can't be rewritten to change facts, but that race really wasn't over until game 162 was over.
The two top MVP candidates this season, A-Rod and Magglio Ordonez (who could be the batting champ this year) both have the hitting skills and favorable situations currently to accomplish the Triple Crown, as well as a few others. I could see it happening.

It was in my local paper, and Yaz himself said he didn't know he accomplished the feat until he read it in the paper afterwards. So perhaps their mentioning of it was premature.
It went from 154 games to 162 games in, what? Was it 1960?

1960 was the last year of the 154-game schedule.
