..either Phil Hughes or Ian Kennedy to start Game 4.

Who do you go with?

As much as I love Phil Hughes and his potential.
My heart says Hughes, but my head tells me to go with Ian Kennedy.

Hughes has the long term potential, but Kennedy right now throws strikes, keeps the ball down, has better command of his pitches and a better repitoire currently.

No time for heartfelt decisions, Tony. The head rules in September. Hughes is not ready for prime time. Kennedy gets the nod. I think Mussina just settled the issue of rotation for Torre.

Hughes

Kennedy has looked great because of a really low BABIP and a really low HR/FB%. I`d go with Hughes

Likely be Mussina, unless he experiences another meltdown before the ALDS.

Likely be Mussina, unless he experiences another meltdown before the ALDS.I agree, but not one of the choices in the poll.

I said the choice was between Hughes or Kennedy. :D

We all know that Torre would go with experience beforing using any rookie, even if the rookie has been damn good.

If there's a 4-man rotation in the ALDS, my ideal rotation would be:

Wang
Pettitte
Rocket
Moose

Therefore, Moose starts Game 4. Hughes and Kennedy go into the long relief/spot starter roles.

I would want Wang pitching at home, I think his ERA is 2 points lower in Yankee Stadium. We arnt going to have any home field advantage this year until the WS :gt

So I would have to go with a 4 man rotation for the first round of:

Pettitte
Moose
Wang
Clemens

Pettitte is good at stopping losses, which could be needed if Wang and Rocket have bad outings or the relief corps goes pear-shaped. It seems Mussina has made his case for the rotation, though the picture could still change.

I wonder if tonight's game changes some votes... I didn't see it but judging by the box Hughes looked good.

Also, I missed the game tonight, what is the latest on Kennedy's status?

Since that Tampa game Phil has just turned it up a notch.
