View Full Version : Cup holders?

Just curious, but how many ballparks and stadiums out there feature cup holders at the seats for fans. The Astros had them in the areas behind home plate, the dugouts and the Club Level but today the ballpark will have cup holders on every seat in the lower seating bowl (infield and outfield). This seems to have been an on-going project at Minute Maid park. Has this been a big issue that anyone knows of with other stadiums or is it something Houston has just been without since the park opened in 2000?

I know Dolphins Stadium has had them for every seat throughout the ballpark.

Fenway has some on the back of seats, but I don't think they have them in the back of the grandstands, If I remember correctly, but last time I was there was 2004. I'm not sure about the upper deck seats or the Bleachers.

None of the True Upper Deck Seats at PNC Park have cupholders.

Citizens Bank Park, as far as I know, has one for each seat. Each one says Citizens Bank Park on it... which seems pretty unnecessary to me, especially considering the work that would be involved if the parked ever changed names.

Are those Citizens Bank Park signs just stickers? I've seen it at Roger Dean Stadium in Florida where they put a new sticker over the old sticker when they get a new sponsor for all the cupholders. Seems like a waste of stickers for something you don't really look at

Detroit's Comerica Park has them, back of the seats.

They think of it as you look at the cup each time you take a drink possibly. And seeing that you noticed them, you saw them! :twocents:

That logic is fine if it's advertising another company. But I already knew I was at Citizens Bank Park.

The Ravine has cupholders in all of the 50,000 grandstand seats. None in the pavilions.

Same thing at US Cellular Field.

Cup holders?!? Do you think the fans really need them? If the fans wear cups to the game, they should keep them on and not put them in a holder. I think only the players should wear cups anyway.

None of the seats I've sat in at Skydome have them, that means the upper deck and the OF seats.

When my wife goes to a game with me, she holds my cup. If she does not go, I hold my own.

It's a nice setup.

It will be nice being at a Mets game with cupholders, considering the Mets take the bottlecap off when you buy a bottle of soda or water.

I'm going to miss having an uncapped bottle under my seat and praying it it doesn't get knocked over.

I remember being at a Springsteen concert in Giants Stadium in '03... I bought a bottled water, and at one point found it had been knocked over. Or maybe it fell, from the vibrations of thousands of standing, dancing, jumping Springsteen fans.

Anyway...

Although the Meadowlands also removes the cap from bottled drinks, I didn't suffer any water loss... because I brought my own bottle cap and just used that to re-seal the bottle! :clapping

Great American Ball Park has them for every seat except the bleachers. I once donated a $6.50 beer to the concrete there for that very reason!

either bring your own cap or bring your own drink. as long as its not alcohol and its a plastic bottle thats not open you can bring it into shea. they quietly changed their policy mid-season last year. i brought 2 20oz bottles of coke and a bag of cracker jack to every game at shea i went to. saved a ton of money and didn't have to deal with that pepsi garbage.

That is effing awesome.

Damn the man and his obnoxious uncapping policies. Bring your own cap. Fight the power.
