this is kind of a weird question i know but i LOVE coke and hate pepsi so i like knowing if i have to bring my own when i visit a new stadium. i emailed coke asking if they had a list of stadiums they are in but no response.

of the stadiums i have been to:
shea - pepsi
yankee stadium - coke
safeco field - pepsi
citizens bank park - coke
camden yards - coke
rfk stadium - pepsi
turner field - coke (i would hope so)
i can't remember what pac bell or fenway had but i think it was coke and pepsi respectively.

I remember when Yankee Stadium served RC cola sometime in the 90's.... or at least they sponsored bat day. Whatever happened to bat day? Too dangerous?

A Dodger Dog eaten with a Pepsi would be a terrible thing... I believe it's actually against the law.

I prefer pepsi personally.... but to each his own. I still do have coke when there is no pepsi.....

Busch Stadium and Minute Maid Park, both unsurprisingly, serves Coca-Cola products. Wrigley Field, Royals Stadium and Shea Stadium all serve Pepsi products.

Though, I'm not sure what the Metrodome or Rogers Centre serves.

Likewise, Pepsi owns Tropicana, so somehow I doubt they serve Coke in St. Pete.

I remember for a while the New York Mets served RC Cola because I bought a can of RC that commemorated the 25th anniversary of the New York Mets.

As far as I know, here is a list of MLB franchises that I know serve Coke and those that serve Pepsi:

COCA-COLA
Atlanta (No-brainer since the city is the home town of Coke)
Houston (Minute Maid, park's corporate sponsor, is owned by Coke)
St. Louis (I wonder if they sell 7-UP since 7-UP was started in St. Louis)
Colorado (the scoreboard sign of the Coke bottle with the Rocky Mountains in the background is the coolest sign ever)
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Baltimore
Boston (Coke Bottles on light tower behind the Green Monster)
New York Yankees
Texas

PEPSI
Florida
New York Mets
Philadelphia
Washington
Chicago Cubs
Cincinnati
Milwaukee
Pittsburgh
Arizona
Tampa Bay (Tropicana, the ballpark's sponsor, is owned by Pepsi)
Chicago White Sox
Cleveland
Kansas City
Anaheim (or if you prefer, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)
Seattle

NOT SURE
San Diego
Toronto
Detroit
Minnesota
Oakland

By the way, although some people consider Pepsi to be a Yankee drink, it was actually created in New Bern, NC.

Also, in the NFL, one team neither sells Pepsi nor Coke. The Seattle Seahawks serves Seattle's own Jones Soda. They are the ones that make regular flavors as well as unique flavors, including a Thanksgiving package I saw one year at Target that had sodas that were the following flavors:
Turkey
Sweet Potato
Gravy
English Pea
Antacid

I think I'll stick with Cola, Lemon-Lime, etc.

Looks like the yankees have switched from Coke to Pepsi for 2009. Kind of disappointing, I hate pepsi for some reason. I don't really drink soda at all, but when I do it's usually a Coke product. This video shows pepsi signage all over the new Yankee Stadium.

I'm boycotting Coke and Pepsi until they start using cane sugar again instead of corn syrup. There is a huge difference in taste and we are one of two or three countrys that use corn syrup which tastes bland in comparison. For now I'll buy Jones Cane Cola which tastes like Coke and Pepsi used to taste.

RC was at Shea for many, many years.

Heck, RC even celebrated the 1986 Mets championships that fall

Here's an interesting question, based on this thread...

I'm a Michigan native, and in that part of the country, we commonly refer to these beverages as "pop."

When I moved to Atlanta a few years ago, I started getting strange inquiries as to where I was from whenever I would refer to soft drinks as such, as the common reference to them here is "soda."

So my question for you is, what do they call it where you're from? "Pop," or "soda?"

epps
03-07-2009, 09:22 AM
In the midwest they call it "pop" out east they call it "soda". Not sure about out west but I think in some places they just call it "coke".

I read that Pepsi is coming out with Pepsi Throwback and Mt. Dew Throwback that will use real cane sugar not high fructose corn syrup.

Jones Cola also uses real cane sugar which Coke and Pepsi used to use until they cheapened the product with corn syrup and now doesn't taste as good as it used to.

Well, you will get your wish sometime this summer. Pepsi is releasing "throwback" flavors featuring Pepsi, and Mountain Dew which will be sweetened with good ol' sugar.

I loved those small ice cubes they used to have at the Metrodome. I also remember the vendors selling the cups of Coke (and beer) that were topped by a sort of adhesive plastic wrap that could be hard to remove and sometimes result in a person spilling some of the drink.

Target Field is going to be a Pepsi stadium. The Pohlad family has long owned the local Pepsi bottling franchise. I'm very surprised they never managed to get the contract at the Dome.
