As long as the lights fit within the theme of the stadium, I don't see a problem with them. It's definitely going against the current trend of light design, though. Seattle can get away with it because the rest of the Safeco Field looks good enough that no one will complain. Yankee Stadium is, well...Yankee Stadium. The Yankees can do whatever they want. Rogers Centre is a dome, so it would have to incorporate a halo lights system when the roof is closed.

I don't mind them normally, but for the New Yankee Stadium, they are going to be awful.

They make such a big deal about bringing back the famed frieze along the top of the roof, and yet at the same time they decide to put halo lights in, which will simply create a glare and totally obscure the frieze. What a waste.

The halo lights at NYS look very similar to the ones at the current YS, and I think they look kinda cool from that previous rendering.

Turner has the same type of lights. They just don't wrap all the way around.

I thought all the stadiums had those lights except Fenway and Wrigley.

I don't mind the halo lights anywhere except the new Yankee Stadium. They're not so bad, but I definitely think light towers look better and can add something to the stadium. At the retractable domes it's necessary, but even at Minute Maid and Safeco the left field light towers are part of the design and add something to the park. I hate the ones at Yankee Stadium. Why would they bother to put the facade back if you can't even see it? Lights like the new ones at the Cell would look like the original Yankee Stadium lights, and they wouldn't cover up the facade

Nope, not at all. Jacobs Field has the usual light standards.

I never liked the halo lights on Yankee Stadium. There were many aspects of the renovated stadium I didn't like. The halo lights for the new stadium are a horrible idea and should be changed to tower lights. Some stadia look good with halo lights such as Kaufman Stadium in KC. Dome and retractable stadia don't have much of a choice.

And...the facade or frieze does not look as large in the renderings as it once did at the current Yankee Stadium so it may very well disappear into the glare of these lights at night.
