have you seen this yet? Boston Globe article (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/10/16/yankee_visit_to_wrap_up_08?mode=PF) today has some Red Sox-Yankees dates:
The Sox would play three games against the Tigers (April 8-10), followed by three games against the Yankees (April 11-13, a weekend). The Yankees' two other visits to Fenway Park also are scheduled for weekends: the last weekend in July (25-27) and the season-ending visit in September. With the Yankees moving into a new building in 2009, the Sox will play their final games in Yankee Stadium next season. They have a two-game series in New York April 16-17, a four-game series over the Fourth of July (July 3-6), and a midweek series at the end of August (Aug. 26-28). They will end the season with three games at home against the Yankees (Sept. 26-28).

Thanks for the information bigworm. I am a Yankee fan who lives in Texas. I have wanted to try to go to go the last regular season game at the Stadium next year so I REALLY appreciate your update on the 08 schedule. In the article in the Daily News they said there was a possibility the Yankees might protest the schedule because they wanted their last game to be at home rather than on the road. I don't know how successful they would be in the protest if they do protest. Here in Texas its hard to find the final Yankee schedule. Where is the best place to find it in print first when its final? I'd like to know where to look because I really want to get tickets to the last scheduled regular season game at the stadium. I just joined today and this is really helpful. Thanks.

the only real place to get the official schedule is on the yankees website when it comes out, usually in december, and good luck gettin tix for the last regular season home game. i think everyone and their sister is going to try to get tix. fortunatley i am a season ticket package holder, i don't have that game but, i get a presale a few days before general public, hopefully that game will be available.

Figured out through process of elimination that the Yanks will open at Home vs Toronto. I checked all the "tentative" AL schedules that were posted on their respective MLB websites and were able to determine this information. The only cavat to throw a monkey wrench into this is if Boston and Oakland don't end up playing each other in Japan or Oakland for that matter as has been widely speculated on many outlets. Here's the opening series that enabled me to determine this. I'll see if I can do this for some of the other open dates on the Yankees schedule as well.

Anaheim @ Minnesota (LAA Website)
Tampa Bay @ Baltimore (TB Website)
Kansas City @ Detroit (DET Website)
Texas @ Seattle (SEA Website)
Chicago @ Cleveland (CHI Website)
Boston @ Oakland (Widely Reported, not officially announced)

which leaves us...Toronto @ Yankees...Toronto only has their 2008 home schedule listed on their website, and has April 1-3 with no dates listed which would lead me to believe they're on the road in NY.

As of right now there are 126 out of 162 games shown. We know there are 3 scheduled vs Toronto at home to open the season, with an additional 6 more home dates vs the Blue Jays. Assuming of course, we play all AL East teams 18 times as we do each year. That takes us to 135. We're missing 15 Baltimore games, 6 more at home and all 9 in Baltimore. We're at 150 now. We're missing 3 Detroit games here, as we only have a 3 game set listed for there. That brings us to 153. We only have a 4 game series set for Texas, so we can assume a 3 game return series here, which brings us to 156. Oakland is no where to be found on the schedule, but there has to be a home and home with them for the remaining 6 games, 3 here and 3 there to fill out the 162 game schedule. Now the fun part in filling the holes. More to follow later I'm sure...:crossfingers:

The following was done through process of elimination concerning the open dates on the 2008 Yankees Schedule.

3/31 - 4/3 vs Toronto at Home
4/18 - 4/21 vs Baltimore (Unsure about Home or Away)
5/19 - 5/22 vs Baltimore (Unsure about Home or Away)
6/30 - 7/2 vs Texas at Home
8/22 - 8/25 vs Baltimore (Unsure about Home or Away)
8/29 - 9/1 vs Toronto at Home

I'd guess these are all 3 game series even though some of these are four day gaps. I've got the other open dates whittled down to a possibity of two or three teams, but with Oakland and Baltimore having no "tentative" schedule published at all, that's the best I can do. I was able derive this just by looking at the open dates on the schedule and looking who was scheduled to play each other. Any questions, just ask. Thanks!!!

Notes Regarding the Open Dates...
Until Baltimore releases at least a home schedule, we can't determine where the Baltimore games will be played...here or there, but the date blocks are correct. Process of elimination confirmed the Yankee home dates versus Toronto thanks to Detroit releasing the rest of their schedule. We just don't know the Yanks open on March 31st or April 1st, and unless there's an off day on either June 3rd of 5th making that series a 2 game set, you'd have to figure Monday September 1st is the off day in the final Toronto series. The Texas series was a process of elimination as we are able to see who everyone else is playing in the AL and Texas is scheduled on the road, so thus NY. The two locations for Oakland are educated guesses. When looking at the schedule, NY is already confirmed to be on the road at Houston following that 3 day open block, so an Oakland-Houston 6 day trip seems reasonable. The other option would be NY to start at Oakland following the All-Star, and come home to play Minnesota for 3 and then back on the road for a Boston series. That seems far fetched, so I figured a Oakland-Minnesota homestand following the break makes the most sense, so I went with that LOGIC when figuring when we'd be in Oakland and Oakland in NY. This should clarify things. Using the same common sense we could pretty much figure when the Yanks would be in Baltimore and the Orioles in NY based on length of roadtrips/homestands but what fun would that be anyways. I guess we can just wait until Baltimore releases a home schedule. Hope this helps out. Wonder who will release their schedule 1st? Yanks or O's???

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 6, 2007
ORIOLES OPEN 2008 SEASON AT HOME
AGAINST TAMPA BAY ON MARCH 31

Highlights of schedule include two Yankees weekends; first-ever trip to Wrigley Field

The Orioles will begin the 2008 season at home on Monday, March 31 against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the 39th time in 55 years the Orioles will have opened in Baltimore and the second time in the last three years they have opened at home against Tampa Bay. After an off-day on April 1, the club will continue their three-game series against the Devil Rays, then host the Seattle Mariners for a four-game set to conclude the Opening Week of the season.

Highlights of the 2008 home schedule include two weekend series with the New York Yankees (April 18-20 and August 22-24) and one against the Boston Red Sox (May 30-June 2). The Red Sox will make two other trips to Camden Yards (May 13-14 and August 18-20), and the Yankees will also play a three-game series in Baltimore beginning on Memorial Day, May 26-28. The Orioles’ two other American League East opponents, Tampa Bay and Toronto, will also make three trips each to Baltimore.

Interleague play features the Orioles’ first-ever trip to Wrigley Field to play the Chicago Cubs, June 24-26. The Orioles will also travel to Milwaukee (June 20-22) and play a home-and-home series against the Washington Nationals. Baltimore will host a three-game series against the Nationals, May 16-18, then play in Washington June 27-29. The Orioles will also play a three-game series at Camden Yards against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Father’s Day weekend, June 13-15. It will be the Pirates’ first visit to Baltimore since the 1979 World Series. Another National League Central team, the Houston Astros, will make a trip to Oriole Park June 17-19.

The Orioles will face American League West opponents in five weekend series, once each against the Seattle Mariners (April 4-7), Los Angeles Angels (July 25-27) and Oakland Athletics (September 5-7). They will play the Texas Rangers two weekends at Camden Yards, July 4-6 and August 8-10. The Chicago White Sox will make two trips to Baltimore (April 16-17 and August 25-27) and each of the other AL Central teams will travel to Oriole Park once in 2008.

The Orioles’ longest road trip is a 10-game journey to Los Angeles, Oakland and Kansas City, May 2-11. Their busiest travel month is June, when they will play 18 of 27 games away from Camden Yards in two nine-game road trips. The team also has another nine-game trip scheduled for July 28-August 6.

Baltimore will play 17 home games in July, their busiest month at Camden Yards. The month includes their longest homestand of the season, an 11-game set after the All-Star break from July 17-27. They also have a 10-game homestand from September 5-14. Overall, the Orioles will play 39 of 67 games after the All-Star break at Oriole Park. They conclude the season with a six-game homestand against Tampa Bay and Toronto, September 22-28.

The complete tentative schedule follows, with times to be announced at a later date. All dates and opponents are subject to change.

When was the last time the AL East played the NL East in total? AL East played NL West in 07

March 31 - April 3 is Toronto at Home, but since there's 3 games over 4 days with no confirmation of the off-day for that series, I left it blank. June 10 - 12 is Oakland. No confirmation at to where. Most likely at Oakland. After the All-Star break is Oakland as well. Yanks will get 2 days off after the All-Star break, as that series can only be a 3 game series. This should be a home series to round out the open dates. I left these blank in deference to BigWorm so as not to offend anyone until either the Yanks or Oakland release some sort of tentative schedule on their own.

Can we finally add Texas for the open dates from June 30 - July 2?

June 30-July 2

Detroit @ Minnesota (Confirmed via Twins website)
Toronto @ Seattle (Confirmed via Mariners website)
Oakland @ LAA (Confirmed via Angels website)
Cleveland @ Chicago (Confirmed via White Sox website)
KC @ Baltimore (Confirmed via Orioles website)
Boston @ TB (Confirmed via Devil Rays website)
Texas @ NYY (Process of Elimination....besides Rangers website shows them to be on the road for these dates)

Besides, with NYY being at Texas for a 4 game series August 4-7, you know it's going to be a 3 game series and not a 2 game series. MLB would not schedule 4 there and 2 here, they will even it out as close as possible when only one trip is scheduled for each location.

Hello,

I have a question for you. The dates shown up here are they very sure? I need to kow it because I want to surprise my husband for his 40th birthday with a trip to the new york yankees which he is a fan of since he was 14 years old. We live in Holland and when I book my flight now it is much cheaper than in january. I have in mind the period of the end of may.
Sorry for my English.

Thanks for your help!

The end of May is pretty much set in stone. I'm sure your husband will love his present.

big worm-
i grew up in NY, used to go to stadium and score games at home while
watching WPIX--took sweet work out west a few years back and I'm si out here-
I get to the Bronx as much as possible, either get lucky with outside stadium scalper or have girlfriend or buddy try and get tix-not the case this year-what do you think the best outlet to get quality '08 tix...for some reason I've never went thru the box office-and being 2500 miles away its still not gonna happen...I gotta make the flight back and forth for a few games next year-probably an early seasoner in April-then maybe a game in September....whatta think? the yanks official site?some internet sport ticket machine?--just wondering where and when to look-you seem very knowledgable and level minded-just wanted to throw it out there before I call/have someone visit box office....
cheers-

Does anyone have any idea?

I believe it is sometime in June, not sure exactly when. i believe last year the Yankees played a middle game of a 3 game set against the Angels and the old timers game was that day, which was several days before the all star game so, sorry i couldn't help!:ughh:ughh
