The Director of League Development of Little League Baseball is considering starting an all-girls' baseball division within the organization. Perhaps they are finally getting the hint that plenty of girls want to play baseball, too.
Here is the contact info for the Director...

So are they officially making the main division all-boys? That seems to me to be the only fair thing to do.

Main division? If they decide to do this, there will be an all-boys' baseball division, an all-girls' baseball division, an all-boys' softball division, and an all-girls' softball division. There would be 4 divisions in all... one baseball division and one softball division for each gender. There would be no "main division."
That's the only fair way to do it.

I think little league baseball should be left co-ed.
I understand the logical argument that if there's a softball division for boys then there should be a baseball division for girls.
I would prefer little league just scrap their softball program and leave that to ASA.

Regardless of what adults want, not every girl out there wishes to play baseball with boys. Actually, most girls don't choose to play with boys. Rather, they choose to play baseball with other girls, and they should have the opportunity to make that choice. On the flip side, if there are sufficient boys out there who choose to play softball, they also should have that choice. Everyone should have the freedom to choose what makes them happy, and if they choose to play amongst their own gender rather than playing amongst the opposite gender, they should be able to do so. It's not for adults to decide so they can use it to "satisfy" their egos.
Kids are at the pinnacle of learning and growing, and part of that is being comfortable with their experiences. Why should they be forced to do something in a setting that makes them uncomfortable if they choose otherwise?
This debate is not so much about... "Well, if so and so has this, then I should have it, too." It's about people, including children, being given the opportunity to experience that which they enjoy and choose to experience in settings that will foster their growth and development and their happiness.
