What do you guys think about Fred Tenney? No shot, ever? He had good statistics overall, but are they good enough to get him in the Hall? Of the ten players most similar to him statistically, two of them are in the Hall-Lloyd Waner and Richie Ashburn. He was also a good defender in his day.

So, what do you think?

He was an excellent ballplayer and definitely underrated (see largely and unfairly forgotten). However, I just don't see him as quite being up to Hall calibre. He was a great fielder and certainly had a great career. However, if you take his runs scored out of the equation, he doesn't match up statistically to some of the other greats of his day.

Had the latter part of his career not been plagued by miserable Boston teams and later on injuries, he very well could have and probably would be a Hall of Famer. His problem was that by the time he got to the Giants he was physically near the end.
