Rules

Only players listed on the ballot are eligible for election.
Players appearing on the ballot last played anywhere from 1919-1943.
Players named on 75% of the ballots will be inducted.
A voter may vote for 0-10 candidates.
There is no ineligibility rule for “banned” players. Nor is there a minimum 10 seasons played rule for eligibility.
Candidates remain on the ballot for 25 years before being permanently dropped.
The 5-year wait is in effect.
Retain the “no automatic induction” rule.
Eligibility rules are not waived in case of premature death of a candidate.
Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played.
Each annual election is open for ballot submission Monday to Friday. Results are announced over each weekend.
Anyone may vote by posting their ballot in the thread.

A suggestion/request...I don't know if this would be helpful for everyone, but I usually use my previous year's ballot as a starting point.

Classic: Would a link to the previous year's ballot in your opening post be too much trouble? I know it would be expeditious to me, and perhaps to others.

I do the same, plopping my old votes into an Excel spreadsheet and placing it side-by-side with the new post. First thing is to check the newly eligibles, electeds and dropoffs, then look at last month's tally to see if I was missing something. (Like if I was voting for Danny Doofus and Lou Gehrig was available, but I forgot to include him.) Then comes the whole thing of who has the best cases, etc. :blah: (Oh . . . am I doing that AGAIN?)

Anyway, that's a good suggestion. I will shut up now. :silent:
