Does anyone think that Manny Acta is doing a great job this season? Keep in mind that the Nats were expected to lose 100+ games this year

It's not really a yes or no question, especially with a rookie coach, there's a lot of black n gray. I think he's doing a alright job, he obviously has a lot to learn, and you can see that just by watching his situational decisions. But, considering what he got himself into with this ball club, and with all the injuries he had to deal with, we definitely could of been in a worse position. So i tip my cap off to that, he's holding his own and that's something to respect.

I live in southern MD so obviously evrything here is related to the Nats. I occasionally catch a game on MASN also so I see his tactics.

I think that he is doing the best that he can with what limited resources that he does have.
Next year hopefully will be a rebuilding year and maybe that can be at the .500 level.

I think he's doing a good job despite being picked to finish last by most, and having no talent. Wrong, the Nationals have good talent, and they've gotten some help, mostly by former Cardinal/Red/Tiger/etc. Dmitri Young. The main questions are: Could Nick Johnson be back and healthy by 2008? Will John Patterson throw next year? Who will the Nats pursue in free agency?

Given expectations I'd say hes been doing a fantastic job. This team was supposed to be the worst team ever, and they're actually a respectable team that always has a chance to win on any given night.

I honestly don't know, but just looking at the Nats record and comparing it to what was expected makes you think he is doing a good job. Could win the NL MoY for his work.

I don't think we should keep looking at it from "They were supposed to lose a hundred games this year;" I think we should look at it from "Is he doing the best job with the team he has?"

Thats essentially the same thing. If you're supposed to lose 100 games its because you don't have a good team, and if you have a decent season like the Nat's are then you outperformed expectations, largely due to the manager in this case I think.
