Not the actual criteria as defined by the Hall of Fame itself, but your criteria. If you were a voter, what standards would a player have to meet? Let's ignore non-players and pioneers for the moment.
For me, a player must:
A) Have followed the rules qualifying him for the Hall.
B) Have statistics that suggest he was a Hall of Fame caliber player.
C) If he does not have the statistics that make one conclude he is a Hall of Famer, he should be close enough that non-statistical aspects can put him over the top.
D) If he is close enough, must have demonstrated prowess in certain areas that the stats may not always capture.
There's probably more, but that's what I can think of right now. What are your criteria?
