my local sports authority has a lot of gloves, but most are low end/cheaper. where do you go to buy your glove? is there a store that tends to carry a large selection and a larger range of qualities of gloves? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

thanks I appreciate the sites. I was more looking for bricks and mortar stores where I can go in and actually try on the gloves and see how they feel for myself.

Unless you're only interested in the "big guys" (Rawlings, Wilson, Mizuno, etc.), I'd recommend checking out GloveSmith's site. They're making very nice gloves at their place in Missouri, and the turn-around time on a custom glove is very decent.
No, I'm not a sales rep, only a very satisfied GloveSmith owner.

Not sure where you are located. I'm in Toronto. There are only two stores that carry high end gloves, Ward & Patch and Eagle Beaver. From what I can tell, there are only two online stores in Canada which sell high end gloves, ProStock Athletic Supply in Vancouver, and Home Run Sports in Winnipeg. Suprisingly enough, the retailer National Sports actually has some good gloves too (Nokona, Rawlings, Wilson, Louisville TPX).
I bought a Rawlings Gold Glove from Eagle Beaver sports for $CAN114.99 + tax. I also bought a Rawlings Gold Glove for MLB.com for $89.99. The same glove is now offered by numerous US sites for 74.99 to 79.99. Amazon.com also carries a lot of high end gloves at competitive prices but don't ship to Canada. If you buy from a US website, you need to know that most shippers will bring the glove to Canadian customs at the shipping charge you pay when you buy the glove. From there, you have to pay provincial sales tax and duty plus a broker fee to clear the package and shipping from the border to your house (where these additional charges are paid COD - ie when it arrives at your door). So beware of US purchases. Once you factor the dollar exchange rate, taxes and all these additional charges, you really are not that futher ahead not to mention taking 2-3 weeks for delivery. Unless you know someone in the States that you can ship to and then can send the glove to you, I would stick to buying locally, either from a retail store or online. You can call these guys up and order over the phone as well. Hope this helps.

Ward and Patch is good - I find they can be a bit pricey and the downtown location is in the middle of no where.... Jane and Annette??
I bought my teams unies - from www.torontobaseballstore.com (http://www.torontobaseballstore.com)
Site isn't anything special - but they had some pretty good discounts.
Enjoy.
