Breakfast with The Portland Sea Dogs
Held Sunday Aug 19 at Hadlock Field.
Myself, my son and his friend and one of my local hobby friends drove down to Portland…1/2 hour away. The weather was great 60 breezy and blue skies. The Dogs were hosting the New Britain Rock Cats.
This event was simply awesome…It was struggle to get there as I contacted the Sea Dogs about the event, and after a delay was finally told that I had to be a season ticket holder to attend. I am not a season ticker holder, but it is nice to have friends that are.
Perhaps the thing that struck me the most was that the players were EXTREMLY cordial, nice, very polite. I was overwhelmed by Tommy Hottovy, Jeff Corsaletti and especially Justin Masterson. Mssterson quickly became my favorite ‘Dog…he is a truly great guy, signed most of my stuff with a Bible passage. And the ball signed by him is spectular.
Asking them to pose with my son for photos were greeted with the utmost respect for the both of us. I am not sure how I can explain it more than that…they were just the best. The way it ought to be.
