Catcher: John Roseboro, Tom Haller (Haller beats out both Torre and McCarver by throwing out a MUCH higher percentage of runners - 65.5%)
First base: Norm Cash, Willie McCovey Norm having a much better year than in real life - he's already three fourths of the way to his season HR total
Second base: Jim Lefebvre, Pete Rose Not really any other choices here, at least as I see it. Sure wish I'd known Lefebvre was going to have a season like this when I traded him!:sorry:
Third base: Dick Allen, Ron Santo
Shortstop: Luis Aparicio, Dick McAuliffe Little Louie edges out Dick only by starting 19 more games (34 more at SS) and being a much better fielder. Had McAuliffe started more games at short and in total, he'd be number one.
Left field: Willie Stargell, Curt Blefary
Center Field: Jimmy Wynn, Al Kaline, Mickey Mantle
Right Field: Hank Aaron, Frank Robinson, Roberto Clemente
ADDITIONAL POSITION VOTE: As Mark noted, since Al Kaline is injured and can't play, I'll cast an additional vote for Willie Mays as the third center fielder, just edging out Matty Alou (another player I traded over the winter :nosleep: ) and Joe Pepitone.

Starting Pitchers: Juan Marichal, Luis Tiant, Mike Cuellar, Sandy Koufax, Jim Bunning, Fergie Jenkins, Steve Hargan, Gary Peters (Peters just edges out Jim Nash and Jim Merritt on this ballot).

Relief pitchers: Lindy McDaniel, Bob Locker, Jack Aker, John Wyatt Yup, three quarters of them comprise Mark's bullpen, but they looked the best to me. And Locker, even though not my closer, has been my best reliever so far.

C: John Roseboro, Joe Torre (Clay Dalrymple would've made this list a week ago)
1B: Norm Cash, Willie McCovey
2B: Jim Lefebvre, Pete Rose
SS: Dick McAuliffe, Luis Aparicio
3B: Dick Allen, Ron Santo
LF: Curt Blefary, Frank Robinson, Willie Stargell
CF: Jimmy Wynn, Mickey Mantle, Matty Alou
RF: Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente

SP: Juan Marichal, Luis Tiant, Mike Cuellar, Sandy Koufax, Jose Santiago, Jim Bunning, Fergie Jenkins, Dave Boswell

RP: Lindy McDaniel, Jack Aker, Don McMahon, Dick Lines

I believe that I have at least one from each team.

I didn't think having a player from each team was a requirement for our league, but if it is I'll have to redo my ballot, because I don't think I had a player from every team.

And I'm surprised neither of the other ballots so far mention Bob Locker. Folks, that's not a homer vote by any means. His stats so far: 34 games, 57 IP, 1.74ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 7-1 record. He's made my middle innings pretty secure!

--There is no requirement to have a player from every team on your ballot. I tried to squeeze them onto mine, but I think a couple teams might end up shut out of All Stars.

C: Tom Haller, Johnny Roseboro (This is no homer vote. Haller has equaled Roseboro in runs created, and thrown out a phenomenal 19 of 29 attempted steals.)
1B: Norm Cash, Willie McCovey (Norm has been unbelievable.)
2B: Jim Lefebvre, Pete Rose
3B: Dick Allen, Ron Santo (In addition to crushing baseballs, Allen has played pretty good defense so far, committing just 7 errors and starting 17 DPs . I'm sure Maz is the biggest reason for that latter number though.)
SS: Dick McAuliffe, Louis Aparicio
LF: Willie Stargell, Curt Blefary, Frank Robinson
CF: Jimmy Wynn, Willie Mays, Matty Alou
RF: Hank Aaron, Tony Oliva

SP: Juan Marichal, Luis Tiant, Sandy Koufax, Mike Cuellar Jim Bunning, Fergie Jenkins, Steve Hargan, Gary Peters
RP: Lindy McDaniel, Bob Locker, Don McMahon, Jack Aker

Another vote for Santo over Dick Allen... what are you guys thinking?

I was a little surprised by that as well, even though Santo is my third baseman. But the recent articles on how disruptive Allen has been in the Hard Cider dugout and locker room may have had some influence here!:laugh :waving

Wow, several unanimous selections, and none of them at all questionable. In each case the unanimous pick is easy. Mark, I see Aaron had 35 votes also, so I would have to believe he was unanimous as well and just didn't get bolded.

Sorry to see five owners weren't able to get votes in, but I know people are very busy this time of year. Maybe the 67 All Star ballot - along about December - will generate a higher response.

Looking forward to an exciting second half - although all of the mystery has already been removed from one of the races.
