Hi all. I have complete sets of both the 1952 and 1953 Topps reprints. I understand they are a limited edition. They are in mint condition except I no longer have them in their original boxes. A long time ago, I put them in plastic display sheets. Was this dumb of me? Should I have kept them in the boxes? I can't seem to find any website that indicates approximate value for these cards, either.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Honestly (and I am by no means a pro at pricing), I would guess that the complete sets of those aren't worth that much at all. When I bought the complete 1952 sets & 53 Topps Archive sets I immediently took them out of their respective boxes and put them in plastic sleeves in two seperate binders. (Then I started sending them out to the living ones for autographs :) )

Thanks, AC. I had heard a few years ago that the sets were going to be worth something some day, but I have never held my breath for that, so that doesn't surprise me. Oh well. They're fun to take out and look at, anyway!!

I think these are the reprint sets and not the archives sets. I've seen the official reprint sets for a few hundred dollars.

Fritsch Cards has them for 400 bucks -

Yes, what I have are the reprints, not the archives. It does appear they are worth a bit of cash after all. Looks like I lost about $125 when I took them out of the box!! How was I to know? Larry Fritsch has always been a bit high-priced too, but this does give me a good idea. Thanks, metro!

The 1952 reprints are worth considerably more than the 1953 or 1954 reprints.

The `52 set is going on eBay for around $100.
