I read about it on another webiste after Glovemedic mentioned it. Was wondering if anyone used it and how good it was.

Thanks

very good... when used in moderation. your goal is to coat the glove with lexol, not to saturate the leather. take a cloth, take a LITTLE BIT of lexol, and rub it all over the pocket

was bad on my old glove, The dark maroon color bottle is great for storing over the winter. Not very good for breaking it in. I like rawlings for breaking in only then go to Lexol

It is the only stuff I use on gloves anymore. I have tried Rawlings Gloveolium, Nakona's vaseline-like product, Sandal Lady's Glovestuff, Wilson's glove oil, Tanner's, etc. I like Lexol because you can use it as a cleaner and conditioner at the same time for routine after game cleaning throughout the season without over-lubricating the glove. I use it several times during the season on my son's catcher's mitts to keep them in awesome shape. I have not used it on my new glovesmith custom elite as of yet (purchased in January). I am still playing catch to break it in and it has not gotten any game-use yet, although I have taken a few groundball and fly ball fungos. Take it easy on your new GS gloves and don't be too impatient, they will break-in eventually, and be awesome ever-after.

Have fun and play hard!

How do you apply the "orange" cleaner? I find that it is pretty strong in its concentrated form and is prone to drying out leather, especially when it is worn and distressed (as in many of the abused gloves I see). I have taken to using it in dilution with water (1:10) and then wiping it off with a damp sponge to rinse.

use a lil bit work it in and it cuts the infield dirt then kinda wipe it off with a damp wet cloth...then apply the preservative right away

I use some shaving cream with Lanolin. Works great and it doesn't weigh your glove down with any heavy oils.
