There's no easy answer to this question. It's a great deal of the little things that gets a team where it needs to be. Send me a PM I may be able to help.

Some people will tell you to go do bonding things like laser tag. I don't believe it's necessary. If you have effective practices that are fun the kids will enjoy practice and come to enjoy each others company. When I coached LL I would have skills drills competitions in practice. I would change the teams all the time so kids would work with each other and become encouraging to the less talented players.

Make them talk team and never say I and me. Works great for 10U. In fact this year we had a boy pitching a no hitter on mother's day(thru 4, only playing 5 do to time) and I was going to replace him because everyone sits and the team said no and everyone of the boys ask to sit in his place. Sadly he gave up 2 hits the last inning, but got the win!

If you start them off right and don't let them build ego's it easier, for those with ego's put on the bench to start until it breaks until they want to be a team player, never use the words best player, he's better, as this will force other boys to quit on you.

Let the boys be boys!
