..that he is only 83 hits away from 3,000? I've got a feeling he's going to stick around another year.
Oh definitely. I think he's got one year left. I think it will be with SF too unless he can get the money & playing time as a DH elsewhere. But I'd think he'd be foolish to leave SF & they would be foolish to let him go. Both parties can continue to milk one another as he counts down to another milestone or two next season.

And also 14 RBIs away from 2,000 lifetime.

Fat chance. That's assuming that the SF brass doesn't want him anymore.

Seriously, I don't care about Bonds. Its getting to the point where hes gonna need his own forum on this site.

That has already been proposed. Anyway, I think he'll play at least one more season.

i agree. threads about bonds should be limited, and off-shoots like this one should be closed.

I see him DHing for the Angels next year. From what I hear, the SF front office wants nothing to do with him.

I hope SF keeps him another year. From an economical standpoint...he has doubled his salary in revenue...why not pump up the chase for his other milestones???
He is a shell of what he once was, but that stroke of his and his strike zone judgement is still in tact

He still leads the majors in OPS. and his OBP is a ridiculous .500.

Man, if people would just challenge him, that would go down quick.

If pitchers would "challenge" Barry, his OPS would stay the same and he would hit more homers and doubles.
I'd like to see them try it just to see him hit 50 homers at age 44.
The point is this: pitchers only pitch to Barry when they believe they have the advantage. And look what he does to them. They walk him when they don't believe they have the advantage, in other words, when letting him take first base is the BEST option.
So if they pitched to him when it was in their best interests to walk him, he would tee off even more than he does regularly. It was true in 1993, it was true in 2001 and it is still true.

Wouldn't he get in more slumps if he actually thought that pitchers weren't going to pitch around him all the time?
