Tell us about a game you saw today. And when tomorrow becomes today, describe that game. In other words, we will just describe the present here, or at least the very recent past. Give us as much detail as you can remember. If you want, give us an account as the game is going on.

Giants at Padres on the local San Diego channel where I am. Looks like Bonds is going to be saved for home games so he can break the record in front of a more friendly crowd.

***

Padres hurt by injuries right now, with Giles and Bradley out. That's why Kevin Towers's shoring up the depth of the team was so important.

***

Classic field, spin, and throw by Khalil Greene. That's his trademark.

Braves vs. Rockies:

I tuned into the game late. Octavio Dotel has been as good as advertised. Either he's there or he's not. I had to do some cleaning, so I didn't tune in for most of the tenth, but I did see Escobar's game-winning single.

Adrian Gonzalez going for the play at second on the sac attempt made no sense. If he goes to first, he's got a 90-something percent chance of successfully getting the out, and the Giants do have a RISP, but two outs.

KC/Yankees...couple of interesting things about this game that the Yankees won 8-5. Hideki Matsui became the first Japanese player to hit 100 Hrs in the major leagues. The fan that got the ball also got another one later in the game when Melky Cabrera hit a Hr:) Also when Gil Meche got knocked out the Royals put a pitcher in the game that they just brought up from the minors.... Leo Nunez. I believe he's 23 or 24 but looks like he's 15. After giving up that solo Hr to Cabrera he settled down and pitched very well. I had never seen him before or even heard of him but he looked very good. Pitched 4 innings walking 2 and striking out 4. Any KC fans know anything about him?

O's @ D-Rays: Erik Bedard started, wasn't sharp early but settled down for his eighth win in a row and struck out a bunch of guys. Huff and Mora homered, and the O's won 11-3.

Justin Hampson shovels the ball straight from his glove to prevent Dave Roberts from beating out a drag bunt. While that play isn't as cool as throwing the ball inside the glove to the base to beat the runner, it's still a sweet play. Padres up 4-2.

And that's it. Some drama at the end, but the Padres sweep the series in three one-run victories.

Braves and Rockies:
Corky Miller does the catching for Atlanta while McCann has a day off.
Chipper hits a home run for the Braves.
Spilborghs homers twice for the Rockies. Helton is still getting some respect after being walked intentionally.
Game is tied 5 to 5 until Escobar gets a hit for Atlanta to win the game. :radio

Justin Brooks Verlander now has a baker's dozen wins. He labored quite a bit (30 pitches the first inning, 75 through 3, 110 through 5, ended with 119) but he got a win at Yankee Stadium. Carlos Guillen hit a 1 out grand slam in the first inning off of Mussina to get things going for the Tigers. The bullpen (other than Jones) was pretty good and managed to record 8 straight outs via the strikeout at one point (there were 3 walks and a single during that stretch).

Yankees 5, but the Tigers 8!

Boof gets the boot, sorry I couldn't resist. The Twins are behind in the second against the Royals and Boof has left the mound.
A home run by Alex Gordon, followed by multiple hits by the Royals. The score is 5 to 0.
The local tv channel is showing a Royals game, how about that! :reporter:
