In the first inning against the Padres, Bonds went deep. 755! The stadium erupted with cheers, there was no booing.

Eh, there was a bit of booing, but the cheers were definitely louder than the boos.
NOW TO 756!!! GO BARRY!!!

So the circus is almost over. I am disappointed he did it, but if he now breaks the record, I would rather it be sooner than later, ust so I can stop hearing about the guy.

No booing? Really? He can't hit a HR in San Fran without ANY booing.
From the AP via Yahoo...
"The Petco Park crowd stood and cheered, with some boos mixed in, when the San Francisco slugger homered off Clay Hensley in the second inning. Several fans held up asterisk signs.
Bonds was booed as he headed to left field at the end of the inning."

I heard booing. Maybe it's just a selective deafness thing. Those who don't want to hear booing don't.

Bud Selig just denied an invitation to the booth for the ESPN2 broadcast of the game. Dodging any talk of it at every turn...
I just want this to be done. It's inevitable he will do it, so get it over with.

Bonds hit his 755th hr off a pitcher who once tested positive for steroids.

I must be missing something. A player who has never positive for any PED hit a HR off a pitcher who has tested positive for PEDs. Where's the irony?

There was some booing, but most of the noise was cheering.

Actually, Bonds did test Positive for Amphetamines.

Sure thing, 50man. No one said you have to think of Bonds when you think of baseball. Who is forcing you to? When I hear "baseball", I think of "Atlanta Braves". :waving Welcome to Baseball Fever.

Lovin' Life! Barry Yes! Go Barry Go!

This could end up being the two greatest days in baseball as A-Rod hits 500, Barry hits 755, and tomorrow, Barry goes for 756 and Glavine goes for 300.

If someone had told me in April, 1974 that someone would be knocking at the door of Aaron's record and I wouldn't care less, I would thought they were crazy.
They must have been crazy, because I can think of very few things that I care less about than Bond's pursuit of this record.

That's funny, when I see Barry Bonds at bat, the first thing I think is asterisk, and I'm a baseball fan.

Congrats Barry!! Records are made to be broken.
This reminds me of when the single-season record was broken in 1998. I didn't want Maris's record to be broken cause I wanted a Yankee to have it but I have to admit it was exciting to watch. When Mcgwire hit #62, I cheered.

IMO, the Asterisk HOF, if there was such a thing, would have more members since 1960, then the real HOF, if all was known.

Selig has no class, zero. He is the leader of baseball and he acts like this. I think he has embarassed himself and the sport. He just stood there when Bonds hit the HR, no reaction whatsoever. He is a shmuck

I agree. From the higlights I saw, his expression looked like he missed the HR. He looked like he didn't know what was going on.

I agree with you 100%. Selig has no class whatsoever. He sticks his head in the sand until he has to show his face, and when he does, I see no emotion to hardly any emotion. I just got word that Rangers owner Tom Hicks, sitting ahead of him, looked back and told Selig to stand up. Selig's clueless look on his face is priceless to me, being the basket-case that he is.
As for Bonds, I want pitchers to throw him a fat one, just so I can stop hearing about the guy...
