He's turning to be a decent pickup by Bowden, he just won again tonight as we beat the Reds 7-3 with the old Senators caps on.

He's 5-6 with a 4.22 ERA, but beyond that, he has only 21 K's in over 74 innings of work and opponents are hitting .287 against him, his WHIP is terrible as well.

What do you think?

The Good: able to steal a win here and there, has improved greatly since his first few starts.

The Bad: Only 21 k's in 74 innings of work

The Ugly: .287 opponent batting average and a WHIP of 1.42!

Bacsik and Redding should be middle relievers/spot starters for us next year. I think that'd be a good role for them.

I'm anxious to see more of Joel Hanrahan. He's only 25 and has great stuff. If he continues to pitch good, we basically just added a new quality young starter without having to do any trades or anything to get him (signed as a minor league free agent).

The Nats have done an amazing job of keeping a rotation together out of nothing. If they can manage to come up with a #1 starter who can go out and pitch 200 innings next year, they could be well on their way to respectability with the other pieces they have available.

Does anyone know what O'Connor's status is?

He's in Harrisburg, and isnt' doing very good.

He's also followed suit and been injured, here's RotoWire:

O'Connor has given up eight home runs in 34.2 innings over seven starts though July 13, since his return to Double-A from the DL (elbow).

Owch.

His stats:

1-4, 5.77 ERA, 43.2 IP, 50 H, 25 K

There's no way he's coming up this year.

And, sigh, this is looking like the end of the road for Michael Hinckley and the Nats too:

9-9, 5.42 ERA, 109 IP, 127 H, 64 K, 74 R
