I have to ask...maybe it's me.
But what does Joe Torre think when he's inserting Kyle Farnsworth into a game in the 8th inning or in a close game?
Because when I see that he's warming up to come into the 8th inning, I pray that it's his throwing day or that he doesn't come into the game or that the game is called or even that the Yanks exploded in the bottom of the 7th for a crooked number.
Why is it that Joe Torre insists Kyle Farnsworth is the setup man?
I know that Kyle was brought in to the be that guy and he's getting paid that type of money. But how long do you keep going to a well that you know is empty? Do you just continue to goto it hoping that one day it's plentiful with water??
I have to ask because right now Vizcaino has been lights out since the end of May. I'm the MGR of the Yanks and Luiz is my setup guy. He's the most trust worthy of all the pitchers right now, not named Rivera.
I tried to talk about this with some guys @ work and they say that's his job.
I call BS on that because if it's not working....then you change. You adapt. You don't keep going back to the same plan. You improvise when sudden obstacles arise. Either change...or perish I believe.
I mean I know Joe Torre isn't a great manager, he's average at best. But this is common sense to me. Is change that difficult for Torre? Or am I just wrong?
And not only has Kyle been terrible this year. He's also shown up the Manager, slammed his glove in the dugout after being pulled, complained to the media about not getting enough playing time, and even crossed up his catcher and hit him in the wrist with a 96MPH fastball and then had the catcher stare him down.
