If they're selling their network, a sale of the team can't be far behind. Owning your own network allows you to carry six sets of books instead of the usual three, so the only reason to dump a successful one is to lower the sale price of the team...

I'm no accountant, so what are the 6 set of books when you own a network (YES (NYY); SNY (NYM); NESN (BOS); WGN (CHC), etc)? What are the 3 sets when you own a team w/o a team-owned network? In the case of WGN, I'm guessing it's a publishing company (Chicago Trib) owning a team (Cubs) which own a TV station (WGN), right? I think that WGN also broadcasts Chicago Bulls NBA games also.
