Sorry to hear about that. 1st off don't panic and try something quick. Let it dry out slowly on its own and pick up some Lexol at a local "Pep Boys" or other store where they have "automobile detailing" products. Apply the lexo while the glove is damp to condition it and keep the leather supple. Feel free to visit my "Glove Medic" website and look underthe page title "A,B,C's of Baseball Glove Care" for other information, or PM me directly if you need other advice.
Good Luck!

Do you have one of those boot driers for when boots or waders need to dry? I bet that would be perfect for it.

Wreck it! Use the Lexol leather conditioner I suggested in my first reply to you. You can pick it up locally at any place that sells automobile detailing supplies, or at a leather care store. It is good enough for Ken Griffey Jr. and the clubhouse guys in the Atlanta Braves organization so you don't have to just take my word for it if you want to try and giove one of them a call. You can also visit my website The Glove Medic (http://www.glovemedic.com) for more information on how to care for your glove. Basically, it is all common sense and does not require too much over thinking.
Play hard and good luck!

Actually it will make it ten times better then before. It softens the leather a ton. I've put it on all of my gloves since I was 9. I'll put it up against lexol or whatever it is any day. Trust me this has happened before and mineral oil saved one of my gloves.

James,
I should have responded earlier.... You need to dry it out first before you put anything on it. The best way to do this to put it in a conventional oven for an hour or so at 150 degrees (NOT the microwave). Keep an eye on it as you do not want to bake it so much that the natural oils of the leather are cooked off or the metal burns the glove. Place it so that it rest with the back of the glove facing up and the glove sits on its little finger and thumb. Once done I would recommend a good glove oil - not a home remedy. Things like butter, mineral oil, motor oil and all the other items people suggest are just not good for leather.
Hope this helps

Visit this website Lexol leather Conditioner (http://lexol.com) and decide for yourself. Petroleum jelly will goop your glove up and it will retain dirt and grit. Mineral oil and other products will soak into the padding and make it heavy. They also cause the leather to break down and become friable over time. I have used many of the "glove oils" on the market and still believe Lexol works best. You cannot over apply it to the glove where it becomes saturated and heavy (like gloveolium, etc.) so the glove maintains its shape and luster.
Good luck!

buy a new glove from like a local sports store, and find the easiest and fastest way to break it in on the internet.

I would be surprised if Lexol were not carried at your autoparts store. It's been on the market for at least twenty years and is well respected for cleaning and preserving leather car seats.

Lexol might be a good choice but mineral oil will not make your glove heavy. I've tried "real" glove oil and it weighs it down a lot unlike mineral oil.

Another vote for Lexol products... and a vote against mineral oil or pertoleum jelly.

Most areas have a Pep Boys, and that's where I bought my Lexol.
