I thought I would share this with you. I went to the doctors this week to have him check a sore left knee. The Doc is a former team physician for the NY Mets and the same orthopedist I use at my coaches' clinics to speak about the damage coaches and parents allow/cause when teaching and using young throwing arms...
After examination he found a torn ACL, arthritist and a torn miniscus. Right knee absolutely perfect. Curious as to why the left was bad and the right was good led to some discussion... The bottom line... It's the knee I pivot on when hitting fungos. Several decades and thousands of ground balls has led me to create my very own coaching medical condition called - Fungo Knee.
"I'm sorry I have to tell you this Coach Smith, but you have a serious case of Patterson Fungo Knee....No, not fungus knee, Fungo Knee."
LOL
