how do I increase my hitting power I cant hit a homerun here the sad part its in a 300 foot field I have only hit the warning track once with a nice hard meatball in batting practice, I think i have my swing down and the load phase so what are some ways to just increase hitting power? I workout 3 days a week but what is a good power hitters workout? also i heard that lance berkman or someone on the astros used to hit a tire with a bat 50 times a day both lefty and righty, which is what ill do and he said he's a great switch hitter and it helped him develop power does that work? thanks for all your guys help i wanna be able to get a homerun next highschool season which is in about 5 months.
Just try nailing them all straight, low, hard, and up the middle and be patient.

yea this summer i was gonna buy about 20 cheap balls and a wooden bat and try and just throw the ball up and hit it over the fence once I got that down i figure it shouldnt be hard to hit it with a metal bat when someones pitching it to you?

Better yet, just cram them all back down the pitchers' throats until they know they cannot get you out. Then when you both know that homers don't matter so much, one of those handcuffers finds the wall. Meanwhile, hit every pitcher every day whether he's on or not; that's a Real homerun. Mauling an already beaten pitcher is unimportant.

Doubles change everything. Make the outfielders run backwards, play good defense and you will go far.
What is your experience with strength training?

well right now i work out 3 days a week and it looks like
workoutA: 3x5 bench press
3x5 squats
3x5 deadlifts
weighted crunches or something for my core
workout B: 3x5 power clean
3x5 squats
3x5 bent over rows
more core work
I just alternate these like a,b,a, b,a,b

Power comes from your hips.... make sure you have strong/fast hip rotation with your swing.. You want to avoid using just your arms to try and power the ball out of the park... leverage is the key, not just brute strength.
In my opinion, you need to add a little more variety to your program. For example, I would include more upper body exercises for the chest, back, and shoulders(even tho they aren't as important in hitting power). Also plyometrics, lunge variations, squat variations, and jerk/split presses. Also, your core workout needs to be extensive and varied.

And I wonder how many more he could of hit if he was on a better one. And the myth that Ruth was some lazy, pig slob is just that too, a myth. Ask the guys over in the history forum.

I believe he performed a lot of wrist curls with the hand holding a bottle.
