What's a benefit of having a good wrist on hitting anyway?

As opposed to a fast wrist?? Are you talking about rolling the hands after contact?

Maybe referred to acceleration into contact, as the bat opens.

You are right virg. I think the guy was trying to tell me my bat speed is not quick enough.
Also rolling my hands after contact as well.

I don't think Englishbey argues that wrist is one source of swing power. It's more of torso rotation while loading-unloading

Ask that guy who said you have slow wrists if he could tell if you are breathing in or out the next time you swing. (just for kicks and grins)
Get a second opinion

Your wrists and hands are only part of the swing, but in my opinion are the quickest part of the swing. If you have slow hands and wrists, then you'll most likely have a slow bat.

Thank You everybody. I talked to the guy again and he told me that I was using a heavy bat and go lighter. I did and I am getting through the zone a lot quicker now.

High-speed final burst in a swing happens as the top hand overtakes the bottom hand, fully opening the bat to coincide with contact. I don't know the nymankinese for it and don't care, but wrist activity is involved. To boost that burst into peak speed you find a way to get it from a wrist or two. Bobby Doerr (if IRR) advised to 'snap the bottom wrist down'.
