A fight broke out in our dugout the other day. It seems Bill Lee made a crack about Billy Martin's behavior at the hotel bar, and Martin leveled him with a flying tackle. It's not all class and levity when it comes to the all-time Bay Area All-Stars, but neither of those guys had much chance of making the final roster, anyway.

Put it this way: Rickey Henderson, the greatest leadoff man in baseball history, will be coming off the bench.

Leading off, Joe Morgan.

Frank Robinson hits second, in right field. Sounds crazy until you see the heart of the order.

"My team is a bit like the Bay Area itself: alluring, forgiving, awe-inspiring, rich in variety. You might wander off to check out some other region, but you'll always come back."

well put, jenkins.
