When batting my son has gotten into a bad habit of letting his back shoulder drop down before swinging at the ball. Are there any drills, programs etc. that will help me to break this habit of his?

Looking at the thread that was recommended, I realize that my son moves his hands & then his hips. I don't have a digital camcorder, but definitely plan on getting one now that I've read about them on this forum. I'm also considering the rightview pro software, but am confused about the different versions. Could someone explain them to me. Also, when buying a camcorder to go with this software am I correct in that I need a minidv with the fastest shutter speed that I can get. Anything else I should look for?

Some others are better video experts but yes, a minidv works well. The Right View software uses some sort of magic to capture it at 60fps. I use a basic canon and it works fine. If you like to really get into I'm sure there will be some on here to better inform you.

I have 3 different motion analysis software programs, but I only use cSwing. It is cheaper than RightView, (which I do NOT have), and is easy to use and has lots of features.
Here is their comments on equipment needed for motion analysis in general, not just for their product;

I dont know what this software is. How is it different from any other editing software?
Yeah, you can buy any mini-DV camcorder. What you do is shoot the video, transfer it to hard-drive via firewire, edit in software, and then upload to a video server.
Don't worry about shutter speed. A camcorders shutter isn't like a cameras anyways. Any camcorder will have a faster shutter speed, or "sport" pre-set. A faster shutter speed will give you a little bit smoother slo-mo.
"What to look for" is a cam with good glass. The Lens is the most important part of the camcorder, or camera. Next most important would be a lot of manual setting features, like iris, white balance, gain, audio/ external audio jack....ect

Mark- Just checked my cswing.... it's 60 fps.
It was developed for golf, but IMO works great for BB too...plus cheap!
