First pitch resulted in a bases loaded single to right....the next 8 were one at bta which resulted in a very weak end of the bat liner to first....the last three resulted in a fly out to center

The resolution is kind of ugly; was it raining? It looks like you do a good job of keeping your hands up and inside of the ball to contact. I see a little hip slide though (only at 1:20).

Yeah the resolution is pretty bad. And it would be helpful if hitters provided slo-mo video. Your awfully wide and I dont think your getting all the rotation you could be. I think you could be loading more too. I agree your hands look pretty good but I dont think your getting all the power and bat speed your capable of. Your could be transferring weight better too.

Am I right in guessing your hitting a lot of grounders and slap hits? You have some size and muscle. I think you could be getting more out of your swing.

I have hit alot of slap hits to the right side....my first hit was and my third....during my second at bat there were 3 pitches (2 curve balls and one fastball) which I should have hit out...I wasn't early or late but I just missed all of them and I don't know what im doin wrong

Agreed ... you may want to narrow your stance a little maybe just to shoulder width or a little more and it looks like you could get some more rotation and power when you narrow it down a little.

When you do hit the ball hard it's up in the zone and you pull it? I'd say you need to learn to load the body, rotate well and adjust your posture for pitch location.

I've heard the talk about adjusting posture for pitch location. How do you do that and not move your head?

Seems to me moving the head should be kept to a minimum.

Look at the first 8 clips and let me know if you have any questions.

The commentary below the Glaus clip is interesting. I don't think I agree. Said something like "more tilt over the plate for an inside low pitch".

More tilt for an inside pitch? Seems like it should be more for an outside pitch.

Doesn't that take a long time? Of course, he had the time....it was a HR Derby swing.

Are you saying adjust the posture, then swing? Or are you saying the swing adjusts the posture?

I'm a starter at a large high school in my city. I do pretty good. I can't see having the time to set posture then swing.

Here's your research data for your question of time which question is essentially the question, do the best in the world do it in game swings. http://imageevent.com/siggy/hitting

Umm, Tom you will have to read Dixon, study the clips, ask for more help and then wait forever for a straight answer.
You see in order to lift the fog, you have to first create some.

Now that might be possible but I'd suggest first you absorb what he has given you on his website. You also might have more luck finding him on englishbeyhitting.com

What do you see relative to your questions when you look at the video clips I send you to?

do you bend over more for low outside or low inside ?

MLB hitters seem to bend over more for any pitch low in the zone. More for inside or out? It would be more efficient to bend over more for a low-inside pitch, but one can only bend over so far. In my opinion, it is about the same and they have to make adjustments with their arms/hands for the low-inside pitch.

Might I add this....

As I see it, geometry would dictate that you can only bend over the same for low in vs out, IF low in is contacted well early and low out is hit deeper.
