I have a question about pitching stride. Ive heard people tell me to take a HUGE stride. Then other people like my pitching coach dosent even emphisize it. I was going through some mlb pitcher videos and Tim Lincecum takes a really big stride, he practaly jumps off the pitchers mound. And he can throw about a 100 mph. heres the link below.

It doesn't have to be a huge stride. Ideally, a pitchers' stride should be 80%+ of their body height.

i thought you were supposed to stride atleast 90% of your body height?

I hear alot of different numbers, all of them ranging from 80-110%. I just think that 80% sounds like a good stride length because it's big but not uncomfortably big. Because I'm sure everyone's not flexible enough to have a Tim Lincecum-like stride.

Stride as far as it is confortable. Some people can go out farther than others......
