I've been wondering for a while if a pitcher has ever hit for the cycle in a game. I have looked at lists of cycle hitters and found nothing listing a pitcher. I didn't know if maybe this happened a long time ago before modern records. I found a list that lists pitchers that have done it over an entire season and it is pretty short. I think that if a cycle happened in a single game that it would be a remarkable feat and would be easy to find but I have had no luck and am assuming it hasn't happened. Anyone have more information?
Here is the list that I found for over an entire season:
American League--Walter Johnson of the Senators in 1925, Red Ruffing of the Red Sox
and Yankees in 1930, Catfish Hunter of the A's in 1971, Wes Ferrell of the Red Sox in
1985, Elam Vangilder of the Browns in 1922 and Joe Bush of the Yankees in 1924.
National League--Jack Bentley of the New York Giants in 1923, Don Newcombe of the
Brooklyn Dodgers in 1955, Dutch Reuther of the Dodgers in 1921, Doc Crandall of the
N.Y. Giants in 1910, and Jack Scott of the Boston Braves in 1921.

I'm sory to interupt. I just wanted to post a question regarding cycles, and I thought it foolish to make a new thread.
Who was the first player to hit for the cycle and on what date?

Wow. I actually got Curry Foley on 5/25/1882. I guess there was someone earlier.
