He is 3 hits away, and has the day off tomorrow.

Will he do it at home, against Colorado?

Here's a fun poll. :)

Post your true feelings. History is officially hours away....

I think they gave yesterday and tomorro's game off, so he can achieve this feat at home, my humble opinion.

Definitely, I'd be willing to wager anything that Biggio gets it at home in that series.

Its a 4 game series, he has a lot of ABs to do it.

I don't think the first base coach should have advised him to try for second though.

With all the adrenaline pumping through everyone's veins, I don't think anyone was really thinking! :)

BTW - That is just Biggio. Mr. Hustle.

He was probably caught up in the moment. It didn't ruin the moment, but I wish that hit didn't end like that. Kinda ironic that a former Astros teammate, Willy Taveras, threw him out.

I wonder if 1 player has reached 500 homeruns and another reach 3,000 hits on the same day before today?

I didn't expect more than 2 hits tonight, but...4 for 5! :highfive:

Now, let's win it.

Having a great night isn't he.

Rockies bullpen is snake bit. This is the 3rd blown save in the last 7 games.

It came close to happen... IN THE SAME GAME!!!

When Mark McGwire hit his 500th homer against the Padres, and Tony Gwynn had one at bat with 2,999 hits late in the game, and they gave him an intentional walk.

Once....today.

Today is history for several reason. Each famous club got a new member which is history but having them gain a new member the same day is even better history. Too bad Glavine couldn't have won 3 times today.

But this can be the first time that there is in one season:

a) No-Hitter (already 2)
b) Cycle (already 2)
c) 500th Homerun (probably more than once)
d) 3,000th Hit
e) 300th Win
f) 2,000th RBI
g) 2,500th BB
h) 600th Homerun
i) 3,000th Strikeout
j) 500 Saves

Hats off to Biggio after a 5 for 6 night.

Legging out that infield single in the 11th actually avoided a loss for the Astros. Dammit.

3rd time on this road trip that Tulowitzki has put the Rockies ahead with a HR, only to have Brian Fuentes come in and blow the save. Ouch!!!!

He didn't..Craig said he wanted his 3,000 to be a double, because thats what he was known for over his career.

This is only the 6th time 3000 hits and 500HRs were reached in the same season.

Well that and Biggio would have been in scoring position in a 1-1 game. Had the game on the radio, was it a close call at 2nd for Biggio or was he a dead duck?

I was at the game.
It was somewhere in between. he overslid the bag a bit but i think the tag got him on the arm anyways.

Maybe he would have gone for it anyway then, but the reason why I said that was on the replay you could see the first base coach waving his arm and hear him yelling "go, go, go!" or something like that.
