which is more impressive?
675 doubles or 500 homeruns?

Now-a-days, probably 675 doubles. Considering only Tris Speaker, Pete Rose, Stan Musial and Ty Cobb have reached 675.
If you had asked me this 15 years ago, I would have said 500hrs easily. But I have to go with the doubles now.

And Biggio's is 17-18 doubles shy of that feat.

I'd say Stan the Man, since he had 725 doubles and 475 jacks. Try beating that sometime. :D

500 was a great standard about 20 years ago, but right now, with so many having surpassed this, I'd say that 550+ is the new "500".

624/755 tops Stan easily!

Very true. However, I will note that Stan was the only slugger amongst those others who'd had 675+ doubles. When you see names like Tris Speaker and Ty Cobb, those are mostly hit-and-run types, aren't they? No punch-and-Judying for Musial. :)

Stan doesn't make the 500/500 or 500/600 club either way, so applauding just @B is saying that he couldn't do it all--and given the # of Stan's AB, he should have gotten 500 HR easily.
