How do they do it??
I get tickets for 500 level outside ground for $5 each. They always say 'Promo 9$ Tor Star' on them. The scalper told me he gets them for $2.50 each but, not surprisingly, wont tell me how. I've looked on Toronto Star website to see if they ever have promotions for cheap tickets but cant find anything.
Anyone know how they do it? I'd much prefer to buy legit tickets if i could.... but 2 for 500 level costs over $20 at box office with service charge etc even if you get flex pack its still nearly double what I pay scalper.
thanks

I don't know either. The best deal I ever got was $5 for two tickets. We were running through Union Station at around 7:15 and the scalper probably just wanted to get rid of the tickets.
I'm guessing that they buy them in bulk somehow and that's how they get them so cheap.

I'm pretty sure it is, but the cops don't care. I think this is the case most places.

It is illegal to sell tickets for more than face value, but not to resell tickets. Also, the cops don't care.

You can buy a season's pass in Toronto, which gets you a ticket to 81 home games for a total of $95 (it used to be $81). The season's pass tickets always say PROMO on them. It is possible they have a lot of these passes, but who knows.

I think they only sell the season's pass until about May each year. I've had it for the past 3 years, although this year they raised the price to $95 (from $81). They usually go in sale in January.
