I'm curious as to who is rumored to be available that can help the middle relief situation in Detroit. What are the primary needs of the teams that have players available to trade to Detroit?

I've read that Brad Lidge or Eric Gagne might be available. What are the needs of these Texas teams. Another name mentioned was Troy Percival. Apperently he's trying to make a comeback and the Angels only want him as a pitching coach, not a player. He's in the process of getting out of his coaching contract so that he can be signed by other teams. Any other names?

Kyle Farnsworthless might be available for a backup catcher

I would be asking Texas.

Oh and from the Reds, no one you want are available unless you want some guys who give up more hits than outs.

Percival already signed with the Cardinals.

Nationals have Rauch and Cordero if you're willing to give up some top prospects for Cordero....

No one over 30 years old please. We need some younger pitchers. I am tired of watching Todd Jones pitch and I am glad Jose Mesa is gone.

Cordero is like 24 and Rauch is 29.

Dustin Hermanson is the most notable name on the free-agent market. He is somewhat old but could be valuable. If he had accepted a minor-league assignment from the Reds, he would probably be up in Cincinnati now.

4 real ? ... I'd jump all over Mr. Cordero. Wait, that sounded bad. I'd want the Tigers to take a shot at obtaining his services.

---sounds from my house over the last couple minutes---
Bbbddddrrrrrrinnnnngg. Hello, Dave ? .. Hey, this is OldEnglishD again; I know you said next time I called, you would get a restraining order; but this one is important. I just heard on the Baseball Fever forum that Cordero could be a Tiger if you worked some of your magic.......... Oh, I see. Well, sorry to bother you again.

(He told me that just because I now have Comcast phone services, that the context of my calls don't change - and he's still not interested in my advice).

DANG. Maybe he reads this forum :)
