Yes.
This one's easy:
What year did the Brewers get Jeff Bennett in the Rule V Draft?
He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the 1998 draft out of H.S., I think in TN.
Then in the Rule V draft in Dec. 2003, he was picked up by the Brewers from the Pirates.
He played with the Brewers in 2004 and was granted free agency in Dec. 2005.

I don't even know the answer to this one, maybe someone can enlighten us...
I read somewhere that there was a player who had over 100 career wins and over 100 career home runs. It wasn't Babe Ruth and it may have been someone from the Negro Leagues. Who was it?
flash143817
06-24-2007, 03:54 AM
I'm pretty sure Babe Ruth was the only guy to do it in the majors. Nobody else is really that close.
Bob Caruthers had 218 wins and 29 HR. Smokey Joe Wood had 38 HR and 117 wins. Wes Ferrell had over 100 wins and holds the pitcher HR record with 38. Don Drysdale hit 29 HR I believe.
If you include Negro Leagues, you might be thinking of Bullet Joe Rogan. He was the winningest pitcher in Negro League history and also an outstanding hitter. But one NL historian places his numbers at 151 wins and 62 HR for his career. Another says that counting all competition (barnstorming tours, semipro, etc.) that he estimates 350 wins and 350 HR for Rogan. Depends on what you choose to believe.

I'm not going to look it up either. Guessing Juan Gonzalez or Ken Griffey Jr.
Tyrus4189Cobb
06-24-2007, 09:19 AM
from 1990-1996:
Ken Griffey Jr. totalled 222 homers
Fred McGriff totalled 227 homers
Juan Gonzales totalled 213 homers
Barry Bonds totalled 250 homers
Sammy Sosa totalled 167 homers
Mark McGwire totalled 212 homers
so I suppose I will go with Barry Bonds.
Gee Walker

Who did Jimy Williams face in his first major league at bat?
None other than Sandy Koufax, who won a complete-game duel with Bob Gibson on April 26, 1966. Williams went in to play short after Mike Shannon pinch hit for Dal Maxville, and was whiffed by Koufax his only time up. Dodgers won 4-2, it's a fascinating box:
