1996 - lead league in batting as rookie (.358), 54 doubles and 36 home runs
1998 - 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases, lead league with 213 hits
2000 - 100 walks in 148 games, .316 BA, 41 home runs, 132 RBI
2001 - hit 52 home runs and .318 batting average
2002 - hit 57 home runs and 142 RBI
2003 - mvp
2005 - mvp

these were his best seasons

do you think A-rod will break any of these career highs:

-142 RBI (2002)
-141 Runs (1996)
-.421 OBP (2005)
-0.631 Slugging percentage (1996)
-393 total bases (2001)

he's bound to start getting walked more, so i say 57 home runs is out of reach

Currently on pace for 64HR 167RBI 149R. I think he's gotta a really good shot at his RBI mark, he's gotten off to this good of a start with what had been a former shell of Bobby Abreu, a crippled Damon, and a meh Matsui at times in front of him. The SLG% also seems very plausible.

I say A-rod could break his RBI mark. Also his SLG% mark.

He'd really have to fall of pace to not set a new high in RBI's, and I suspect, he will be flirting with 60 HR's come seasons end (sad, when 60 doesn't seem THAT high). He is also on pace for over 400 Total Bases (412 at the moment I believe), so he has a shot at setting a new high there as well, surpassing his previous record of 393 TB (set back in 2001).

i think he'll definitely hit that RBI number and maybe his slugging percentage. wow, i didn't realize he was on pace for career highs in pretty much everything
