I think its time the orioles went to another uniform change. Go back to the 1966 look with the black&orange trim on the necks and the sleves with the cartoon oriole on the cap. And the away look the Balitmoe script on the jersey but keep the bird that they curently have on the cap just for the road games. Tell me what you think? C60:radio

As much as I like the cartoon bird (that's the hat I remember as a kid) I actually like the current state of the hat. The non-cartoon bird actually has more historical precedent anyway so I'm OK with the bird we have now. And I like the orange brim at home and the black on one the road too.

What I really want to see (along with many fans here in Baltimore) is the return of the script "Baltimore" on the road jerseys. They're not the only team that doesn't have the name of their city on their road uniform, but the others that are like that all have their city's initials on their hats. We're just...the Orioles.

The current Oriole on the cap has a lot of elegance. I think it would be a shame if Baltimore went back to the "cartoon penguin" caps, especially while playing in a beautiful, classic-styled ballpark.

As for the "Baltimore" on road uniforms, I agree with you kelford.

I would like to see Baltimore on the road unis. That would look extremely good.

I'm partial to the 69-71 unis..the home jersey with the players names in thin black letters over the deep orange numbers. If I'n not mistaken, didn't they have a vest uni during that time?

Yeah, I'm a Red Sox fan, but seeing those O's uniforms are what I grew up watching on the tube when they'd play the Sox.

And oh yeah..bring back the "cartoon" on the hat...but keep the hat black.

The O's also wore an orange jersey with orange pants in 1971 at some point in the season.

Vests are listed for 1968 and 1969, but I believe they were only worn a couple of times in 1968. The orange/orange combo was worn for one game only in 71.

If memory serves, that was a one time deal (the players hated them.) At least with the pants anyway. The orange shirt came back in the mid-late 70's and was used as an alternate home jersey.

I remember hearing someone say that the orange jersey and pants made Boog Powell look like a big pumpkin.

That uniform lives on though as a result of a picture that was taken of the 4 starters.

That's actually not a bad looking jersey, except for those ridiculous sleeve stripes.

I can see that, with white pants it wouldn't look bad at all... the sleeve stripes belong on the Cleveland Browns unis.
