I saw numerous Maddux returns on SCN early in the season. I sent one to him early, and one about a week ago. Im hoping for one back atleast. Do you think that certain players will check the postmark on the incoming mail and they will only sign mail that comes locally? I always thought about this.

Well I live in Massachusetts, so I don't think locality is an issue. I got mine back in just over 2 weeks, so I'd say you probably have a good chance of hearing back within the next 1-2 weeks.

That's really strange. Maybe it all depends on the timing. For example, I've sent 2 requests to Al Kaline, in jan. and last month, but I haven't gotten anything back, despite others getting successes from him during that time.

Today I received a redemption card that I had forgotten about. I opened a pack of 2006 Bowman Heritage and pulled a redemption card for John Drennan Signs of Greatness. The card I got today was not that card. Instead, Topps sent me a 2003 Bowman Draft Picks Chad Billingsley autograph due to not having the John Drennan. I think that was fair and I'm thrilled with the card. Otherwise it has been a very sloooooooow week for returns.

IP success today at the Dunedin Blue Jays @ Tampa Yankees game. All are blowups of baseball cards.

Darold Knowles (Dunedin pitching coach): Topps '70, '72, '73
Luis Sojo (Tampa manager):Topps '90. '91

While Knowles was signing, some of his players were looking at the cards and laughing; they'd never seen old cards of their pitching coach. A few kidded Knowles about the mustache on his '73 card, that he should grow it back. Knowles said that his mustache would be mostly gray "like yours" he said as he pointed at me. I told Knowles that I was "only" 50 and he groaned.

That's half the fun of it...getting the guys from the 60s, 70s and 80s who are now coaches/managers in the minors to sign and seeing the young players razz them about how they used to look. :)

Note on the Sojo cards..they were Blue Jay cards and today he was managing against a Blue Jay farm team.

I received a Allen and Ginter autographed Johnny Pesky card today. I mailed off two blank index cards over a month ago c/o his home address. The receipt of the Allen and Ginter was a bit of a surprise needless to say. He also inclosed an ad of how to purchased an autographed and personalized copy of his book Mr Red Sox: The Johnny Pesky Story.

My Pesky card is exactly like the one that hudsonharden posted the scan of in his above post. Took almost the same amount of time too.

Pretty darned pleased with what I got.

Also, on Saturday I got back an unsigned card of Josh Beckett that I had sent 10 days prior c/o the Red Sox.

Well, you for one...Mr. Siebert was a good pitcher for a while and was well liked in Boston. His career con'ted into the coaching and Mgr'ng realm of baseball and has been considered one of baseball's "nice guys".

Try using single plastics, OR they have the hard plastic ones that really protect cards that are sent ttm.

I always heard to keep it simple with TTM, that sometimes if sent in a plastic holder they will sign the holder and not the card....
