--Only 3 games to play so please be working on your ballots. Ballots will be due on midnight EST on Monday, June 4.
--MVP ballots will have 10 names, counted 12, 9, 8, etc. Cy Young and RoY ballots will have 3 names, counted 5, 3, 1. Please use the next couple days to make nominations, sales pitches for your teams candidates. Identifying the top rookies will be very helpfull. A deserving candidate could easily go overlooked otherwise, simply because some voters may not realize he is a rookie in out legue this season.

MVP
1. Willie Mays
2. Carl Yastrzemski (sorry Hank, you're my man, but Yaz was just a little better this year)
3. Hank Aaron (on numbers alone I'd prefer Morgan, 6.8 RC/27 vs. 7.2 from a 2B vs. a RF, but Aaron is a much better defensive RF than Morgan is a 2B, and he got a little homer push)
4. Joe Morgan
5. Johnny Callison
6. Jimmy Wynn (almost as good a hitter as Robinson, plus extra value on the bases and VG in CF vs. Robinson's RF)
7. Frank Robinson
8. Leon Wagner
9. Billy Williams
10. Dick Allen

CYA
1. Sandy Koufax
2. Jim Maloney
3. Jim Bunning

ROY
1. Jimmy Wynn
2. Ted Abernathy

MVP

...Willie Mays has been unanimous so far, but he lost 2/3 of the triple crown (which would've given him my vote of course) and the Hard Cider finished with the best record. Joe Morgan had a few errors, but his range at 2B is VG and his offensive output was light years ahead of any other middle infielder (Pete Rose came closest). Therefore:

1. Joe Morgan
2. Willie Mays
3. Carl Yastrzemski
4. Hank Aaron
5. Johnny Callison
6. Jimmy Wynn
7. Frank Robinson
8. Dick Allen
9. Billy Williams
10. Tony Oliva

CY
1. Sandy Koufax
2. Jim Bunning
3. Jim Maloney
-- apologies to Juan Marichal

ROY
1. Jimmy Wynn
2. Ted Abernathy (homer nod to Frank Linzy, but he had about half Ted's IP)
3. Willie Horton

Most Valuable Player

1. Willie Mays Simply another amazing season to lead the Knights again!
2. Frank Robinson A great season to lead the Hard Cider to the league's best record.
3. Johnny Callison A tremendous season.
4. Carl Yastrzemski Keeps getting better. Can't wait to see 1967!
5. Jimmy Wynn A terrific offensive season for this rookie.
6. Leon Wagner He and Callison were the Gold Sox offense.
7. Hank Aaron Another great season from this perennial force.
8. Billy Williams Quietly put together a great season for the Knights.
9. Johnny Romano A catcher with his offensive stats has to be in my top 10.
10. Joe Morgan Offensive force at middle infield. Edges out Jim Gilliam.

Cy Young Award

1. Juan Marichal The Pirates didn't make it, but they would've been gone a lot sooner without this guy.
2. Sandy Koufax Goes 8-2, 2.22 ERA, with 6 complete games and two shutouts after the trade to lead Skipjacks to title - and he was no slouch for the Gold Sox, either.
3. Fred Newman Nearly got the Diablos into the post season.

Apologies to Jim Bunning and Jim Maloney, among others.

Rookie of the Year

1. Jimmy Wynn I can in good conscience put Abernathy ahead of Horton, but not Wynn. Without Wynn, the Cannons don't make the playoffs.
2. Ted Abernathy The Legends would've been out of sight without him. A real force as a rookie.
3. Willie Horton A truly great rookie season.

Mark - I don't know if you intended to include every vote in the above totals, but if so you missed my one vote for Johnny Romano. I had him listed ninth, so I think he gets 2 points. I couldn't remember if you list all the totals, or just those with over 10 points.

--I just listed the top 10, but others receiving votes included; Romano 2, Fairly 6, Stargell 1 and Oliva 3. I did list all the players receiving votes for CY and RoY as there were only 5 and 4 vote getters, respectively.

He didn't include every MVP vote; Tony Oliva for example got a homer 10th place vote from me.

Thanks for including Fred Newman, Lew -- he needed a cursory vote too. He had a great year.

Sandy (in character) politely thanks everyone for his next CYA, and gives all credit to the Gold Sox and Skipjacks, who I believe share their first major seasonal award each.

Willie Mays I'm sure repeats Koufax's mannerisms for his additional MVP. Though deep down inside both players know they're the top dogs and they deserve every award they get. :p

The Toy Cannon is very excited about his award and thanks the Cannons for giving him every opportunity to prove his worth as a player. Wynn looks forward to the playoffs and says the Cannons will give the Knights a run for their money.
