what is good speed for a 14 year old? i throw about 74 i'm about 5' 9" and like a buck 40.

Mid to upper 70's is good. Speed without accuracy however, means nothing.

My son plays 14U USSSA Majors travel level. Good speed is mid to upper 70's. The hardest throwers are in the low 80's. For the most part pitchers in high school will be at least 6 foot and at least 170 pounds. Make sure you have good mechanics so when you get stronger you can maximum your ability. And make sure you have an offspeed pitch that's 10 mph below your fastball speed.
